An underage DUI does not carry the same penalties as charges for adult DUI / DWI. No jail time can be imposed; however, it is a Class C misdemeanor that is punishable by fine and suspension of your driver’s license for a significant period of time.

With an underage DUI, there are two hearings at which you might have your license suspended: the ALR hearing and the criminal hearing. We can represent you at both. As with adult DWI, if you are charged with an underage DUI, you have 15 days to request an ALR hearing (which is separate from the criminal hearing), or you will automatically have your driver’s license suspended.
